1. You can use a premade, refrigerated pizza dough (13 oz.) if you want to keep things nice and easy. You can also make your own dough from scratch using our Pizza Dough Recipe.
2. Pick out your favorite calzone fillings. Traditional fillings include ingredients like salami, ham, pepperoni, olives, green peppers or just about any other ingredients you would usually enjoy on the top of your pizza. Making a calzone is all about personalization, so let your imagination take control. 3. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
4. Spray one baking sheet with cooking spray to prepare it for your dough.
5. Spread out your pizza dough onto the baking sheet and pat into a 12 by 10-inch rectangle.
6. Sauté your chosen fillings before baking your calzone. Start with any uncooked meat products you may be using and sauté until the meat is browned and cooked through. Next add vegetables and cook until crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.
7. Spread your pizza sauce onto one half of the pizza dough to within one inch of the edges. We recommend using CLASSICO Traditional Pizza Sauce.
8. Top your pizza sauce with ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese; spread out evenly over the sauce. Add cooked meat and vegetable mixture on top of the cheese. Finally add another ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the meat and vegetable mixture.
9. Fold the uncovered portion of the pizza dough over the portion with the sauce, cheese and toppings. Seal the edges of the dough with a fork.
10. Bake your calzone for 18 to 20 minutes or until it is a golden brown color. Let stand for five minutes before serving.
