  • Combine 1/3 cup sugar and dry lime gelatin mix in medium bowl. Add 1 cup boiling water; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Add enough ice to 1/2 cup cold water to measure 3/4 cup. Add to lime gelatin; stir until ice is completely melted. Refrigerate 25 min.
  • Meanwhile, repeat Step 1 using strawberry gelatin mix but omitting the refrigerating step. Pour into 16 (3-oz.) paper cups. Freeze 20 min. Stir 1/2 tsp. chocolate chips into gelatin in each cup.
  • Beat cream cheese and remaining sugar with mixer in medium bowl until blended. Stir in COOL WHIP; spoon over gelatin in cups.
  • Pour lime gelatin over cream cheese mixture. Insert wooden pop stick into center of each cup. Freeze 3 hours or until firm. Remove pops from cups just before serving.

Special Equipment Needed

Use 1 pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O SIMPLY GOOD Strawberry Flavor Gelatin.

Look for wooden pop sticks in craft or hobby stores. If you don't have pop sticks, you can use plastic spoons for handles instead.

How to Easily Remove the Frozen Pops from Cups

Dip cups in warm water for 15 sec. Peel off cups. (Do not twist or pull pop sticks.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kids enjoyed making these. Kids enjoyed making these. Substituted fat free cream cheese & sugar free jello & splenda. Tasted great. Did not add sugar to the sugar free jello & only added 1/4 cup splenda to the cream cheese mixture. Also used an extra popsicle stick to clean up around the edges b4 I poured in the green jello, just to make it pretty. Kids couldn't wait to eat and started licking it out of the cups b4 the second freeze!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this recipe for the fourth of july celebration at my family's house. I made this recipe for the fourth of july celebration at my family's house. Everyone, including the adults loved them! I found it really easy to spoon in the cream cheese mixture if you chill it before using. I'm making it this weekend for my niece's birthday party, but one batch is going to be made with lemon jell-o and white chocolate chips

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This was good in theory but it was a disaster. This was good in theory but it was a disaster. The white layer does not spread well and when I put my green layer on the white layer just floated to the top, making a mess. I followed the directions exactly and even tried freezing the red and white layers longer before adding the green. I had to throw it all out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is great! This is great! My boys loved them. A couple of tips... put the cream cheese mixture in a freezer bag, cut a corner, and squeeze it onto the red jello. Also, the green jello needs to be in the fridge for 45 min or until it looks like jelly. Then the cream cheese won't float.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from After giving this a one star rating, I let if freeze for about seven hours and they finally set up. After giving this a one star rating, I let if freeze for about seven hours and they finally set up. Much better after they froze that long. Still had to pick the Styrofoam cups off and made a mess with that. It was good, but I'm still not sure if it's worth all that :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good recipe! Good recipe! If you add the ice, do NOT put in the fridge or freezer to long. Makes it impossible to pour and you cannot get the chocolate down. You do not need as much of the icing, you will have some left over. Do not freeze as long, they will become to hard.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My nieces really enjoyed this treat. My nieces really enjoyed this treat. It was a bit hard for me to get the middle layer in. I would recommend making sure the cream cheese is VERY soft or it will be hard to smooth in the layer. We used watermelon and lime jello and the combo was great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious! Delicious! Easy to make following the recipe exactly as written. I used sugar free watermelon flavored jello and Splenda rather than extra sugar - turned out great! I will definately be making these again and will try out different flavors.
